New Translation Services in Aboriginal Languages

In our continued efforts to provide translation services in all of Canada’s Aboriginal languages, we are pleased to announce that wintranslation now offers English to Malecite-Passamaquoddy and English to Innu-Aimun translation. These are just two additions to our growing list of First Nations, Inuit, and Métis languages that we offer translations for.

Malicite-Passamaquoddy is one of the languages in the Algonquin language family which is spoken by a small population of people located in New Brunswick in Canada and Maine in the United States. The language is comprised of the two dialects – Malicite which is the version spoken in Canada and Passamaquoddy, spoken in the US. The languages are very close to being identical, with the main differences being in the accents of the spoken languages.

Innu-aimun  is one of the languages in the Algonquin family spoken by the Innu people who live in the eastern part of Canada; mainly in Quebec and Labrador. There are a number of dialects of the language due to the populations being distant from one another. However speakers of each dialect would likely be able to communicate without too much trouble.

These two languages add to our diverse Aboriginal language offering; including Inuktitut, Cree, Mohawk and several other languages!
