Need A Malecite-Passamaquoddy Translation? We Can Help.
Malecite-Passamaquoddy is one of the languages in the Algonquin language family which is spoken by a small population of people located in New Brunswick in Canada and Maine in the United States. The language is comprised of the two dialects – Malecite which is the version spoken in Canada and Passamaquoddy, spoken in the US. The languages are very close to being identical, with the main differences being in the accents of the spoken languages.
The language is currently an endangered language with an estimated fewer than 1000 speakers remaining. There are active revitalization efforts to help the youth of the population learn the language.
