NEW CUSTOMERS OF WTB
JCNicholls Design
September 2003 JCNicholls Design, a vendor of a world renown statistical institution based in Montreal, has selected wintranslation.com to typeset a series of publications into Chinese, Russian and Arabic. Having located WTB on the web, JCNicholls Design chose wintranslation.com over several other vendors. "You asked the right questions which indicated your knowledge in multilingual DTP," comments designer Graham Ford. WTB has subsequently received several more projects since the successful completion of the first one.
client of WTB's Korean typesetting service
September 2003 National Capital Commission (NCC) has selected WTB to typeset the Korean Veterans Monument plaque, the ceremony to unveil which was held with the Prime Minister in attendance and the event was televised across the Country. NCC had come to WTB for a quote several weeks before the event and decided to go with free services offered by other sources. Just a couple of days before the ceremony WTB received a call for help. "-I'm very sorry that we ended up coming to you so late…we appreciated your professionalism. I hope we will have the opportunity to work with you again!" comments Janet Mackay, Senior Industrial Designer. We later received an e-mail from NCC's art designer Carla Ayukawa, "Your typesetting is perfect." WTB was also invited to attend the ceremony as a token of appreciation from NCC.
client of WTB's Brazilian Portuguese translation service
October 2003 Pioneer Hi-Bred International, Inc., a division of Dupont has selected wintranslation.com to translate its plant safety plan into Brazilian Portuguese. Headquartered in Johnston, Iowa, Information Coordinator Kathy Wallerstedt located WTB on the web, and chose WTB over several other vendors.
TEAMWORK BRINGS RESULTS

A couple of months ago, as a result of Yi Zhang's initiative, staff of WTB started meeting on Tuesday evenings after work. It is an informal staff meeting - pizza and pop, exchange of ideas and information going on at work. So far the results are amazing. We find that we are making progress at almost every front. In Hai Li 's words (he is an MBA student working part time at WTB), "now we are getting somewhere!" We are getting our internal documentation in place, having a procedure for everything from booking interpreters to QA for all incoming projects. Two weeks ago, we had Angie Mitchell, senior project manager from McGill as our guest speaker - we realized we are not alone facing the challenges of being more organized. The sense of teamwork and mutual support for each other seems to invigorate us - keep on the good work, team!

ANNUAL CHRISTMAS PARTY

WTB's annual Christmas party was held on December 4th, 2003. About twenty people attended and shared delicious ethnic dishes from around the world. Huiping presented the Most Valuable Vendor awards to three translators.
