Language Typesetting > Typesetting
process
1. Prepare
a reasonable quote taking into consideration all the job details
2. Select professional typesetters and proofreaders for every
language equipped with the right software
3. Issue a task assignment sheet with information and instructions
(contact information, turnaround, delivery format, name convention,
etc) for the teams that work on the project (project manager/typesetter/proofreader)
4. First analyse and check up of the documents received from
the client: all the translated documents were received and they
could be open properly; all the source files, fonts and all
the graphics were received and they work without any problem.
When the client does not supply the font, the typesetter should
provide a font sheet and the client will have to choose and
approve the fonts before starting the project
5. First typesetted draft is given to a QA person/proofreader,
along with the original document
6. After first QA, the typesetter will have to make all corrections
7. The project manager will check if all changes were implemented
and if more problems are detected
8. First version is delivered to the client
9. After client revision, if there are more changes to be made,
the document will be send to the typesetter again, until the
final delivery is error-free
10. The final product is delivered to the client in a high resolution
PDF format, outlines EPS files, QuarkXpress or Indesign files
