Thompson, more accurately known as Nlaka’pamuctsin or Nlaka’pamux, is part of the Interior Salish language family and spoken in Fraser Canyon, Thompson Canyon, and Nicola Country in British Columbia, as well as the Whatcom and Chelan counties of Washington, United States. Nlaka’pamux has one sub-dialect, Scw’exmx, which is unique to Nicola Valley, British Columbia.
